During the dot.com boom, I got 1-2 phone calls from recruiters every day.

That stopped for a while.

Suddenly I'm getting calls again. My guess is that recruiters are about 6 months ahead of the economy curve when things are getting better.

Maybe.

It may be that people aren't happy, and that it's taken too long for things to get going again, that we can get rid of him in the next election.

It may be that enough people are unthrilled with the Iraq situation that we can dump him.

I hope.

I think getting rid of the Shrub in the next election depends highly upon finding a Democratic candidate who can inspire people and propose a sane courses of action. IMHO, this person is not Dick Gephardt. However, I don't yet know who in the Democratic camp can come even close to the kind of charisma, fundraising power, and guts to win the race. *sigh*

And not in field of as many candidates as the current democratic field. No one will be able to know any one candidate well enough to choose wisely.

I'd love to have a candidate to whom the phrase "I may not agree with them, but I can certainly admire them" could be applied. Unfortunately I can't think of a living politician to whom I'd apply it.

What about John Edwards from NC? An unfortunate name (same as the psychic guy on SciFi) but he's young, good looking, and mm... what's that other thing... oh yeah, he's got a lot of good liberal ideas.

2 words for you.

Bill. Bradley.

C'mon, we've had an actor. Before we skip to professional wrestler, we should at least have the professional-basketball-player-as-president. . .

Strike 1: His wife is an immigrant (naturalized).

Strike 2: His wife's parents were members of the nazi party.

While she is a true liberal and anti-racist, the media would have a blow-up about this. The last time he started to run, they (the campaign) did a LOT of "pre-positioning" on the subject just in case.
