In 27 days my server will have been up for 2 years.

TWO FREAKIN’ YEARS.

BSD’s don’t be hurtin’,
Linux don’t you whine,
Keep your mouth shut Windows,
can’t beat Solaris uptime!

Power outages. That's all I gotta say for uptime.

Oh, and required patching every two-four months, many of which want a reboot afterwards.

*sigh*

Yeah, the first time I had a Linux box stay up for more than 256 days the "ruptime" (or maybe it was uptime) command wrapped around and showed 0 days.

When the bug was reported, the reply we got was, "Gosh, most Linux users patch and reboot so often this isn't an important issue."

I hope that 10 years late Linux maintainers have improved their attitude.
