Tivo and Apple
Feb. 24th, 2005 07:06 pmTivo’s stock is going up on rumors that Apple is about to purchase them.
I doubt it so much that I propose this is how the rumor got started. Today is Steve Job’s birthday. He turned 50. I believe that what actually happened is that be bid on the Tivo that I’m selling on eBay.
Rumors get started that way. Really!

Date: 2005-02-24 04:21 pm (UTC)It's sad, since I love my TiVo to death, but I can't see any good reason right now for anyone to buy the company: all you'd get is an unprofitable product line, a shrinking customer base, some of the biggest monopolists in the world as your competitor, and the instant ire of the MPAA and broadcast networks.
I just pray they open up the guide data format before they tank.

Fifty candles
Date: 2005-02-25 12:01 am (UTC)The odds that any two people in a given room share a birthday is rather greater than the odds that anyone in the same room shares _your_ birthday, n'est-ce pas?
