Title it, "McCain's bad judgement"

Other things:

  • Last week I realized that the subliminal suggestion in the "CHANGE WE NEED" signs is that they really say, "WE NEED CHANGE".

  • Biden and Palin were both asked by the TV networks to appear after the debate. Palin declined. So Biden was on all the networks except ABC, who wanted to give "equal time". Republilcans send Giuliani instead. Right-wing bloggers are calling this "unfair" that it wasn't Palin. Unfair?

  • The press is unhappy they are being denied access to Palin. Last week they were given a "photos only" press op with her, and they conspired to all reject the offer if there wasn't some kind of Q&A too. They were unhappy that Giuliani was substituting for Palin after the debate, so ABC didn't use either of them. What else can they do to put the pressure on McSame/Palin?

  • People are saying that the more she talks, the worse Palin gets!

  • "What you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
Everyone in the room is now dumber for having listened to it." link

  • Google takes a position against "California's anti gay marriage proposal".

  • A video about the big ethics scandal that nearly ended McCain's career (The Keating 5 in 97 Seconds). McCain didn't do anything about campaign finance reform until he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. My theory is that all the campaign finance reform he's introduced ever since has been mostly a PR effort that lets him pretend he's turned his life around. The reality is that the laws he's proposed were too crazy to pass (on purpose) with one exception, which was the failed law that created 527s that hurt Democrats. The biggest campaign finance reform didn't come from the goverment, it came from the internet: by making small donors easy to access it lets Obama fund his campaign with people's money, not big lobbyists.

  • www.electiontaxes.com -- Will I pay less taxes under McCain or Obama? This calculator is much more accurate, but you practically need to pull out last year's tax returns to get the real answer. My guesses produced results that said I'd pay exactly the same both both. That can't be right. I'll have to pull out my tax returns and double-check.

Actually it sounds right to me that people roughly in my bracket will pay about the same under each. I think I'd pay about $100 less in income tax under Obama but I suspect I'd probably pay a little less on interest/investments under McCain. Maybe not $100, but fairly close.

We'll probably pay about the same under both, given what I've read about the plans. I'd be happy to pay more. The only thing lower taxes have ever done for me is raise the total cost of living for me.
