Air America Radio was the first to put out a video about this. It is 3:23 minutes long:

However, it turns out the entire 1-hour episode of Late Night was filled with ridicule and rants about McCain being a liar. Music Director Paul Shaffer" made jokes about how he'd stand in for Letterman if it was Letterman that couldn't make it, and Dave made comments about how McCain could have sent Sarah.

FireDogLake.com has 9 minutes of the ridicule, but claims you have to see the entire hour to appreciate it:
As Letterman watches him live with Couric, it looks like his head is about to explode. McCain might be able to shrug off "one hundred years," but will he be able to survive if Letterman's rage and OCD start to intersect over his campaign?

My favorite part? When Letterman explains that McCain called him personally, which guests usually don't and Senators never do. So McCain personally called Letterman to lie. Could McCain be so out of touch that he didn't realize that Couric, also on CBS, would be interviewing him in the very same building?

Letterman was obviously just mad. He was baffled, and ultimately felt slighted.

Having Olbermann on as emergency guest, although he's been on in that role before, was most definitely a slap in the face to McCain since the McCain campaign had publicly complained about KO and Chris Matthews' coverage being too liberal, and MSNBC replaced them as election and debate anchors. Keith was cool--he said he was fine with it, and actually it would let him be even more opinionated.

How much longer does Obama need to pretend that his opponent is serious? I'm hoping for a one-person debate tommorrow--Jim Lehrer asking Obama all the same questions, and then additional time for whatever.

But, come on! As Obama said, the president has to be able to do more than one thing at a time. All we've established is that McCain can't face up to everything. Won't even talk about his VP.

I guess the shooting schedule doesn't allow it, but how awesome would it have been if Letterman had gone over to Couric's set to catch McCain in the act? He at least could have sent a surrogate with a camera.
