Heh. The "earning a paycheck" crack is particularly amusing considering there's a plenty high minimum salary in the NHL ($500k I think) and no such thing in the NFL.

The NFL minimum depends on years of service. It ranges from $285,000 for rookies to $820,000 for players with 10 years. The NHL minimum is $450,000.
