I just wish I could find Diet RC Cola in this area... I'd rather use Splenda than Aspartame. I just like my caffeine, otherwise I'd be happy with just Diet Rite sodas...
I'm twisted -- aspartame I'm used to, but splenda I just cannot choke down. Maybe I need to set up a mad scientist lab to make some with stevia or something.
And see.. Stevia throws my blood sugar out of control. Last few times I tried it, four drops of stevia extract in a quart of brewed plain old Lipton iced tea put my blood sugar from 140 to 260 in an hour.
That alone makes me suspect of any claims about Stevia not being caloric.
And on a whim I just googled "what is stevia" and these came up:
I've never been able to deal with aspartame, it just tastes bad to me. Splenda I can't really taste (aside from the sweetness), but I've come to suspect it excites the intestinal flora a bit more than I'd like.
