SGI should rise from the ashes with a kick-ass gaming console. They could even call it Phoenix.

What SGI did for the video industry years ago, they could do for the "new" video industry today -- the video *gaming* industry. Wonder if there's any engineers still left there to even pull off something like this.

Short form: no, there aren't. My understanding is that most of the team behind SGI's graphics chipsets from their heydey in the 90s are now at nVidia.
