"People walk fast in this town"

Yesterday I was walking the same 7 blocks from the office to Penn Station and as I passed by this older black man talking to a younger black man he said, "People walk fast in this town."

Seems to be a wonderful idea for a book title or song.

I just wish they did. I'm so annoyed with the slowness of people in this place; the meandering and stopping and failure to look forward.

I used to walk from Penn Station to my office (Park and 48th) but the sheer frustration of having to deal with so many idiots on the sidewalk was driving me mad, so now I'm lazy and get on the subway (E train to 53rd and 5th, which stops at teh front on Mad) and just walk the 5 blocks. Even that short distance annoys me.
