I told you, I gave it to my employees for christmas, the one shrugged it off when I told him he needed to read it.

Guess thats why he can never finish a project and is getting fired as soon as I find a competent replacement.

People don't read self-help books when they are told it would be good for them. They have to come to that decision by themself.

I find it useful to say, "it helped me and people are free to read a copy if they want it" or to let them screw up and be fired.

oh, a tale that may make you smile: last week i was hanging out with some friends, and rambling on vaguely about the difference between being "the organized sysadmin" and "the organized sysadmin who just got drafted into being a quasi-project manager because everybody saw she was organized," and how it's much more difficult to be the latter, and a friend got all excited and said "oh, you've got to read this book!" and pulled out Time Management for System Administrators from his bag. i think he was a little disappointed when i said that i had read it already. ;) on the bright side, he liked it so much he bought a copy for everyone in his group!
