Cops line my street, but I am not afraid.
Oct. 19th, 2005 08:01 pmTuesday morning was the funeral for the police chief of our town (Scotch Plains). He died suddenly while leaving a restaurant on Friday night.
Monday night I got a note on my door warning that my street would be blocked on Tuesday from 8am-1pm. Luckily I got the note in time to park on a side-street. When I walked out the door on Tuesday it looked like this:

The funeral was at the church across from me. The entire street was lined with cop cars on both sides. Cars from every town in the area.
The sound of them driving in procession to the church (or to my street, where they parked) was like tanks rolling it. Pretty ominous.
