Genuity owned by L3?

I guess I was asleep at the switch!

I didn't know until I read this article. Dang, they were my 2nd favorite ISP, but for the last couple of years I've only needed 1 T1 at work, so I wasn't paying attention to them.

Any of my friends at Genuity want to comment about what its like to be owned by L3?

This is better than Genuity going under which would have been the other option. They've been in trouble ever since Verizon decided not to buy the fraction of the company they had to let go of when Verizon bought GTE. Some weird FCC deal made them spin Genuity off when they acquired GTE, but they had the option of buying a majority interest back. They then didn't and Genuity filed for bankruptcy.

I'm glad they didn't go under because then we'd have had to use the NJ Edge network!
