I forgot the trailing “.” on a label in a DNS table today for the first time in, I think, 5 years.

djb isn't a jackass.

remember, jesus was also crucified and today millions worship him.

djb's attitude is unpopular because it comes out and says "your code is shit" to many old-timers in the Internet space who people worship for no good reason other than "once upon a time, they were the first to write some software that implemented something novel, at the time." djb's clearly saying "today, it's no longer sufficient to implement functionality. security is necessary."

time will prove djb right.

I'm pretty comfortable at the "he's an asshole" stage. When I move on, I'll buy you a beer.

I do believe he is brilliant, however. That's orthogonal to one's asshole status.
