I just bought a paper folding machine. It should arrive in a week.

4,000 folds per hour, 80 sheet hopper

Sure, I could have spent $50 or even $150 on a manual-feed office toy, but this has more power.

What size paper does it fold, and what kind of folding options does it have? I looked at an 11x17 engineering printer/copier that had folding too, boy was that expensive. And you don't even want to know the cost for the 38x36 printer/copier with folding....

Have fun with it.

Just remember.. it's not the size that's important.. it's how it folds it...

Yeah, if you have enough money, you can get ones that collate and stuff them into envelopes.

Is it

for work or for home? Does this mean we'll no longer be subjected to envelope-folding sessions at your house? :-)

No, you'll just be invited to envelope stuffing parties.

Hmm... looking to make (http://www.powerhomebiz.com/vol28/stuffing.htm) some (http://www.stuffenvelopes.com/?adwords) extra money at home? ;)

More power? Is that a two-stroke engine in it, then?

expect to hear Tim the Tool Man grunting in the background!

YAY for power... but why do you need a paper folding device?

I do a lot of mailings. I volunteer with a lot of GLBTI organizations, and am Membership Chair for NJLGC (I also run their web site). My goal for this year is to do a 4,000-piece mailing for NJLGC every other month, to drum up membership and help fight the new hate legislation that's coming down the pike.

I usually do them with a lot of volunteers but I'm about to start using windowed-envelopes and I think consistent folding would be really good.

Neat! We've given up on folding; we have Kinko's do it. For 3 cents a copy and 2 cents a page (that's my educational discount there) they'll copy and fold. That's the best deal in town.

Have you seen that the USPS will do a mailing for you now, like a mailing house, for a fee? Freaky. Seems like everyone's adding services-for-pay these days.

F'in X!

I do work for one of the largest and most technically advanced corporations in the world. I do a great deal of data entry in log books and on index cards. 2 of our 3 faxes are nonfunctional. Toner must be scavenged from other machines. We have a stapler that was designed in 1930. Technical support is almost non-existent. I was without a working phone for months until I pulled a switch.

And you have a machine that folds paper.
