As a self-confessed philosophy novice, I -still- adored the film. I thought it was terrifically psychedelic; or was that just the philosophical content? ;)

If I had actually taken any philosophy and just have a lot of friends that talk about it (it rubs off onto others... really) I bet I could make up an extremely funny joke in reply. :-)
