Is www.vacationclub.com a ripoff?
Jul. 26th, 2005 05:59 pmI just got a call from Marriott saying that since I stayed in their hotel recently, I'm being given a "special" offer. I can stay in Orlando for 4 nights/5 days any time in the next 12 months for $199. I could also stay at the jersey shore for 3-4 nights (I don't remember the details), and a couple other places.
I had to pay $99 and pick the location right then and there. (My guess is the $99 is not refundable, which is how they make their money.)
When I pushed to be able to call back in a week or so, she gave me her name and direct dial number and said that I should check the sites that are listed on www.VacationClub.com.
Has anyone done this? Any recommendations?
