Amsterdam was great. SANE2004 was great. Being back in NJ is great too.

Best idea I had during the entire week: DDR at conferences as a way to get people to mingle (new people always have problems “breaking in” to the social circles).

Worst Wizard of Id Evah

Is Sunday’s Wizard of Id so unfunny that the web rejected it? I read it in the newspaper and didn’t really get it. The King was assuring his re-election through “hanging chads”. Huh? What was the joke? Oh, then I realized that the only way this strip could be funny is if you were completely and totally politically unaware and this was the first time you had heard of the possibility that the “hanging chad” thing was not an accident, but an intentional way to skew the vote. Is there really anyone out there that is in this situation? Really? I can’t believe it. Obviously it must be something else.

The other possibility is that the joke, whatever it is, just wasn’t funny. This theory might hold water because it seems to be so unfunny that the web rejected it. That’s right. For the first day or so there was something wrong and you could view any strip on that site except Sunday’s. Coincidence? Who knows.

http://www.swingstateproject.com/ claims that NJ is now a “safe state” for Kerry and I think that’s bullshit. It is only a safe state if we keep up the pressure, keep up the GOTV efforts, etc. Today is the last day to register. Register, damn you! ...and then VOTE!
