Dad in the hospice
Aug. 27th, 2003 10:39 amHey folks!
Just writing to say that Dad's stil hanging in there.
He can't talk, but he communicates occasionally. He's
sleeping mostly, only awake every 30 minutes or so. He sleeps
with his eyes open, which is unsettling but the
nurses say is normal.
He snores even when he's awake. This is oddly comforting
since the sound of him snoring is very familiar to me. I can
remember countless times where I was in the livingroom and
he was asleep on the couch snoring.
My sister Fran arrived by plane last night. She slept in
a cot by his bed overnight. Eddie, me, and mom went home
(mom's house) to sleep.
Mom went back around 7am. Eddie and I are going to leave now.
