It's official, I'm leaving

At a staff meeting today I announced that I am leaving Lumeta. I had told my boss last week, and it was time to announce it so we could transition my responsibilities to co-workers. I then sent out this email:

As many of you know, my father passed away last September. Since then I've been doing a lot of thinking about life. I've decided that I need some time to "find myself" and I'm taking a extended leave of absence from Lumeta. I'm going to travel, volunteer for some causes, and do other stuff in memory of my father. Since it's an extended leave of absence, there's no promise that my job will be available when I return. Que sera sera. I've made a lot of friends while working here and a lot of fond memories that will always be with me. My last day at Lumeta will be January 9, 2004. On January 10 I'll be moving to Vermont for a few months. After that I'll be reachable at tom@limoncelli.com and 908-377-2480. Everyone is invited to a "goodbye" party I'm having on Dec 30 at my house in Scotch Plains.
