I'm concerned that McCain's "October Surprise" series of attack adverts are really going to hurt Obama.

Obama is surprising me. Rather than taking it up the ass without lube like Democrats did in 2004, 2000, 1996, 1992, and 1988, he's... and this is shockingly good... assuming that there will be attacks and actually preparing.

Knowing certain attacks will be to connect him to Ayers, they fed a story to The New York Times (published yesterday) explaining what the link was basically nil.

Knowing that more attacks were coming, they strike back by promoting a 13-minute video about McCain's involvement in the "Keating 5" Ethics Scandal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. After the Keating 5 scandal McCain became 100x more evil. He started constantly introducing "ethical reform bills" so that people would think that he's cleaned up his act. In reality, he only introduced bills that he knew would never pass. It's the perfect scam. The one that did pass (the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform) did nothing but create the "527 Group" system that let donors give infinite money to otherwise unregulated groups, and rework the "public finance" system so that it would be even more tempting to Democratic presidential nominees even though it was bad for them (ha! Obama didn't fall for the trap. However, McCain felt obligated to enroll in the public finance system since he wrote the bill... and now he's being hurt by it as he had hoped Democrats would be).

So far this has been an amazing demonstration of Obama's superior executive skills. He's hired the right people, set up an organization that is drama-free, and they have been "firing on all cylinders". They've foreseen problems and dealt with them rather than hiding their heads in the sand. If he runs this country as well as he's run his campaign, it is going to be an amazing 8 years.
