Remember when Obama announces his VP in a few hours, no matter who it is we all should blog that “this is the brilliant, slam-dunk decision that shows why Barack is the leader that America wants as President”

Also remember that no matter what McCain announces we should all blog, “Oh, what a terrible mistake on McCain’s part. This is the decision that historians will say cost him the election. I have no doubt the phrase “EPIC FAIL”, a term from the video game community, now has a place in political history.”

Why?

Because the Republicans will be doing the reverse.

Because after all, the best answer to noise is more noise.

Yes, actually. That's very observant.

Is there a secret hand gesture you can make that will let you discuss the VP's honestly? Like when you go out of character in an RPG?

I hate to play Thread Necromancer, but it took me this long to remember exactly what this post reminded me of. It's the Twilight Zone episode where the little boy controls the whole town and everyone has to praise everything he does.

"I'm nominatin' a Jack-in-the-Box with the maggot-eaten head of Spiro Agnew to be my Vice President."

"It's real good that you done that, Barry. Real good."

It's really good that you done that, McCain. Real good.

To be fair, we have it easy.

When McCain announces, we can just say, "Why did he choose a guy that cut all infrastructure spending so drastically that people died when a bridge collapsed?"

I'm curious where your "in a few hours" came from?

Anyway, yes, absolutely -- the pubbicans will be doing the same thing. I've been keeping my eye on Soren Dayton (http://www.redstate.com/diaries/redstate/2008/aug/13/ca-union-boss-pays-wife-and-mother-out-of-uni/), a (former?) McCain new-media guy. His posts have taken a decidedly negative turn in the last two weeks or so, even stooping to attacking voter-registration efforts. If you watch with Google Reader or something that checks posts regularly, you can even see the multiple updates to his posts :)

The sad thing about McCain is that every time he opens his mouth and says "Checkoslovakia" or "the Iran-Pakistan border," the words "EPIC FAIL" flash across my vision. The man will clearly have full-blown dementia within 18 months. Yet the latest Pew poll puts him in a dead heat with Obama. I don't get it.

Isn't VP sort of akin to "sidekick", aka "amusing divergence"? If so, I hope it's Dan Quayle again. He was great on the amusing factor.

Funny, I plan to read up on the VPs announced and state an ACTUAL OPINION, not partisan bullshit.

Actual opinions are great before the nomination. After the nomination, you gotta go w/ partisan bullshit all the way.
