Someone stopped me at LISA2003 (last week in San Diego) to thank me for the tutorial Chris and I taught, and the book we wrote. They said on Jan 1, 2003 they had an outage and they were able to recover 25% sooner because of what we taught at our tutorial.
"So, could you put that in dollar terms?"
He thought for a minute.
"I'd say about a quarter of a million dollars."
When people ask me why I wrote the book, I never have a concise, quick, answer. That's my new answer.
