Yay! When that body part (or perhaps, "those body parts" might be better) starts to, er, experience difficulties like the ones you'd previously mentioned, "ibuprofen and antibiotic" is pretty much the best possible outcome.
Well, hopefully this means you won't feel kicked in the balls anymore! I have some vicodin left over from my recent root canal infection.. You'd just be "Wow. I'm being kicked in the balls. And I don't care! Whee!"
But at least for me, vicodin came with Very Weird And Scary Dreams. And constipation. Like epic constipation.
They gave me mine for aftereffects of oral surgery, and after a brief while I decided that being in pain but able to poop was better for me. It seems that being able to poop is one of the top ten Things I Value In Life. Who woulda known? And the dreams were just... icky.
I am so glad you got checked out and hope you will be better soon, Tom!
I was only on it for a day and a half. (7.5/750's for an infected root canal threatening to blow the right side of my jaw into smithereens.) But if you ever end up on anything *codone (hydrocodone (like vicodin) and oxycodone, etc), especially if it's for more than a day or so, swing by CVS and get thee a bottle of cherry-flavored magnesium sulfate. Take a dose when you take a pill. Same thing for the other morphine-like substances. They all "relax" the muscles, including the ones that move stuff through your intestines. The magnesium sulfate will help push that along, so to speak, and let you stay regular.
The whole not pooping thing... not my speed. It seems to be part of how Opiates Work. Now if you could give me a way to cure the Freaky Opiate Dreamz, that would be awesome!!!
