That was a big buzzword for Notes about a dozen years ago. It did truly apply, and for the same reason does for most any web app. It used to be impossible to let your customers interact so directly with your database (or pre-electronic equivalent of a database), and a great deal of the supply chain was really serving the purpose of what we'd now think of as database security and integrity.
