Right before the conference I generally post my predictions based on the rumors that I’ve heard so far. And again I see that everyone is off base. Waaay off base. People are predicting the “Macbook Air” will be some kind of ultralite laptop. Duh.

I say: NO WAY

Steve Jobs replaced who? Scully. Where did Scully come from? He had previously worked at Pepsi. Ever since, Apple has wanted to get into the soft-drink market.

But Steve Jobs is too smart to go head-to-head with Coke, RC Cola and other powerhouses. Lately the big trend has been bottled water. But that’s too competitive too. Heck, they now have specialized waters from various parts of the world, called the “boutique water” industry.

Steve Jobs is about creating new markets. That’s why I predict that “Macbook Air” will be just that: diet, boutique air.

Particularly... hot air. Lots of it. Sold by he quart.

Oxygen bars have already come and gone (probably a few times), so I'm not sure paying money for designer air is as funny as it should be.
