For the first time in years I have a book with an AmazonRank that is less than 3000! In fact, we’re #1 in network administration books today!

Look!

Amazon.com Sales Rank: #2,896 in Books (See Bestsellers in Books)

Popular in these categories: (What’s this?)
#1 in Books > Computers & Internet > Networking > Network Administration
#4 in Books > Computers & Internet > Networking > Networks, Protocols & APIs > Networks
#15 in Books > Computers & Internet > Certification Central

It’s a shame that it isn’t a book about networking. Alas, nobody seems to have a category that it does fit into, thus since it has the word “network” in the title...

that's awesome! I know that reading the first edition has definitely helped me be a better sysadmin. It was required reading for the junior SA that I hired at my last job. Is there a list of what's different between this edition and the first edition?

The new edition has:

* Chapters reordered for easier navigation
* Thousands of updates and clarifications based on reader feedback
* Three entirely new chapters: Web Services, Data Storage, and Documentation
* The section on "how to turn around a failed IS group" was expanded to be its own chapter.
