The Jerk Pit closes

A local Jamaican restaurant called The Jerk Pit is closing. We’ve never been there, but we drive by it all the time and I always think “hey, I’d like to go there some time.” However what keeps me away is that the one indirect interaction I’ve had with the place was meeting a friend of a friend who had just quit working there a few days ago. I asked why she quit and she replied, “Well, to be honest, the boss is a real jerk.”

We used to go there *many* years ago when my folks still lived in Montclair. The goat curry was fantastic. Too bad they're closing.

I visited NYC for the first time in July, 2001. I got laid off the day I arrived, so when I got to the World trade Center I figured I'd save myself the $20 ride to the top. "I can always come back and do that next time."
