You have just summed up the major reasons why we hardly ever go to the movies. The only ones that are worth it to me are Harry Potter movies, anything by Joss Whedon or Pixar, and the Spider-Man films (as long as Sam Raimi keeps directing). And Pirates of the Caribbean, of course. :-)
(Though I will say that the PotC matinee we went to yesterday wasn't bad despite being pretty packed -- no cell phones or babies or small children making noise, at least that I could hear.)
