I took a break from my 3 months of training to return to New Jersey for the weekend. It was good to see C again after all these weeks. We went out for ribs on Friday night.

Saturday we went into NYC:

Saw CSA: The Confederate States of America, a film written and directed by Kevin Willmott. It's a "Spike Lee presentation" (though I don't see him listed as a producer) and IFC just picked it up for a distribution deal. It was good but a bit disappointing. It could have been a lot more edgey. I recommend people see it, but have low expectations. We saw it at IFCCenter which used to be The Waverly (I think). The new theather has the most incrediblely comfortable seats.
While walking around Washington Square Park, we watched two street performers:
- JoeyJoey perform stunts, swallow swords, tell jokes. He's travelled around the world and
- Tic and Tac perform acrobatics, tell jokes, and dance
Dinner at Figero

I've seen Tic and Tac before. In fact, they seem to be franchising similar hip-hop dance/acrobatic groups on street corners all over NYC for quite a few years. However, this is the first time I've seen that they have a web site. I hadn't realized they've been in music videos by Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and others. Their web site has more info.

I guess all street performers have web sites now. What a weird world we live in.

Sunday we hung out while C prepared for work next week.
