I sort of feel like it's a joke by snotty XP people. But then again, my exposure to XP-like process is groups that try to do it with technically unprepared QA people (because you shouldn't have to pay for real development skills in QA, right?) and end up with basically an untested mess and no documentation.
I'm amused by the configuration management (it's all about MANAGEMENT and CONTROL. Choose the tool first and force people to conform, etc.) since one of the points I want to make in my book is that being the inflexible control-freak RE is not the best way to encourage positive change.
