Add to your .cshrc: alias here 'open `pwd`' And now you can type "here" at the Terminal prompt and get a Finder window of your current working directory. This tip and many more found on Salad With Steve.

What about the clipboard?

NextStep had commands that would actually take the text from the clipboard and redirect them to stdout and stdin, so you could do something like:

$ paste | grep blah

I think the commands were "copy" and "paste", but I'm not 100% sure.

Sure, it has pbpaste and pbcopy (the "paste" command is already taken, eh?). But that'd be a lot more keystrokes than this.
