I went to Nathan and Miranda’s poker night Wednesday. I’ve been invited every month since ferevah but I’ve never been able to make it (it’s also a 2 hour trip for me since they live so far up town).
Anyway... the first cool thing to happen to me when I got there was that everyone was saying, “wow! you’ve lost weight!” I’ve been feeling particularly fat lately, so this was a real highlight. I weighed myself when I got home and I’m down to 190 (I was 200 or 205, I can’t remember). Ok, so maybe it’s in my head... but my belly keeps looking bigger. Maybe I’m pregnant and don’t realize it.
The stakes were low, $10 to enter. I played until I had lost it all... which was quite fun. Definitely more entertaining than other things I could do for $10.
I learned of the Cogent/Level3 disagreement from
syringavulgaris, which turned out to be very useful information at work the next day. Our India office can’t communicate with our London colo, and this is definitely the cause. I was able to send links to people affected. Now I just have to figure out a way to politely work this into a memo to management that explains, “when I say we need dedicated links, you should listen to me.”
