that this was printed in the REPUBLICAN congressional committee newsletter:
How many elitist references that the NRCC is proud of can you count? Lets see... golf, yacht clubs, hunting lodges, big houses, hiring others to do menial tasks. It’s pretty everyone knows that the implication of having lots of kids is an underhanded reference to minorities. And of course, what greater insult could an elitist give than to imply that someone else goes bowling.
If the DCCC newsletter printed jokes on this level, there would be congressional hearings and ethics proceedings followed by a multimillion dollar investigation.
(I’ve researched this a bit and the original source seems to be Congressman Craig Hosmer (R-CA).)
-Republicans usually wear hats. Democrats usually don’t
-Democrats buy banned books. Republicans form censorship committees and read them.
-Republicans study the financial pages of the newspaper. Democrats put them at the bottom of the bird cage.
-On Saturday, Republicans head for the golf course, the yacht club, or the hunting lodge. Democrats get a haircut, wash the car, or go bowling.
-Republicans have guest rooms. Democrats have spare rooms filled with old baby furniture.
-Republicans hire exterminators. Democrats step on the bugs.
-Republicans sleep in twin beds, some even in separate rooms. That’s why there are more Democrats.
