Someone asked me to write a proposal for a "viral marketing" strategy for a non-profit I'm involved with. I was able to do a basic treatment (all he needed) in one sitting. Wow.

I wish I could tell you who it was for :-) (not the Democrats, sadly.)

(No, viral marketing doesn't mean spreading computer viruses. It means encouraging people to mention the event on blogs, in their email signatures, and so on.)

So, when will we hear the details about it?

Viral marketing is a little more than just that.

It can include giving organizations free merchandise to pass on to thers, and then asking them later for any feedback. One example included giving a whole bunch of toys to a boy scout troop leader.

Some aspects of VM do not sit well with me.
