Okay, that's sillier than I thought. The original is obvious silliness, but snopes.com trying to debunk it, pretends that people are taking it seriously. Either way, all it takes is some basic concept of what a Hurricane is, to know from looking at that map that what we're seeing are the paths of the centers of the storms, and that they obviously did affect the counties to either side of them. I hope most people who look at the map don't need Snopes to tell them so. And, that's basically the only information the Snopes article contributes (other than the equally obvious observation that all the states near Florida also voted for Bush)

I doubt the Snopes pieces is gonna make any difference to the people posting this (I posted a copy of it in a community a couple of days ago) - I think they already know that hurricanes affect a wide area on either side of the path of they eye, and they can see plainly on the map that several Democratic counties got hit, and they don't think that's the point at all.
