Damn he was good! He was funny, explained things well, was really funny, etc. He should try to get on Letterman every week :-)

I wouldn't be surprise if there wasn't a bounce from this.

Tom, I've been looking around for Kerry position papers and not finding them. Do you know where I might find some? I've found a number of papers telling what he thinks is *wrong* about things, but not what he proposes to *do* about them. (Telling what he would have done about them *if* X doesn't count if X didn't happen.)

I'm going to vote for him anyway unless he's over 60% in the NJ polls the day before the election, in which case I can afford the luxury of a protest vote and write in Mr. Dean. Anything to get the chimp out of the Office before he can get it fitted with a throne.

But it would be nice to know what John actually planned to *do* once he got there.

best,

Joel

http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/ has a lot of position papers. Drilling down has a lot of specifics. For example, this is pretty specific about what his forest fire policy would be. (this is a big issue for me, since Bush's policy seems to be "protect the loggers" and Kerry's is "protect the families and the environment".

Thanks; I'm checking it out.

An idea I'd like to formally propose is that the rebuilding of Iraq be funded by nationalizing Halliburton and the Carlyle Group without recompense, as most of their assets came from defrauding the public treasury in the first place. That would accomplish the job without bankrupting America or requiring raising taxes, and also be a major blow for justice.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

best,

Joel
