He clutched his chest, said "urgh grrrhgh", and was rushed to the hospital, where his new, non drug-addled doctor said he was unfit to run for president. Cheney said, "Oh well, doctor's orders!" and moved on.
Don't they really mean "Bush will be staying on Cheney's ticket as President, while Cheney continues to pull the strings"? ;)
Er, something like that.
Though I hate Rice... I think it would funny if Bush chose Dr. Condolezza Rice as his running mate... because he'd have to be extra careful that some nutcase who is thinking "Hey, we could have a black female president with just one bullet..." out there...
Come comedian said something like that last election that you'd never see a black (or other minority?) VP because of that... Oh, it was funnier when he said it, I guess. :)
Nope, it won't happen because this administration is fundamentally incapable of admitting any mistake, even when doing so would benefit it. Not that I'm complaining at this point. I say keep bringing on the mistakes. Just fuel for the fire.
The worry lately was that Cheney's medical team would suddenly decide that it was unwise for him to serve another term, and he would announce his surprise withdrawal from the ticket for health reasons. That would still be the smart way to do it, and was the only scenario that worried me. Given Cheney's and Bush's statements of the last week, it seems a little less likely, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed until the convention.
And then
