What happens when you make the same chart for every other war we have been in?

Isn't this just a "fact of war" (with good reason) that support trickles off as it drags on?

I'm surprised that support for the war went down when Saddam was captured.

That was my first reaction, but I'm sure there's some time-quanitiztion effect there. The peak was some poll shortly after the capture, then it started to go down. Likewise for all the other landmarks.
