YouTube videos on LiveJournal

Often when someone embeds a YouTube video it gives an “video not available” error.
However, if I clicky-clicky to find the URL, and go directly to the URL, I am able to play the video from the YouTube.com web site.

Is this just a problem with my system or do other people see it?

after a certain time of loading, the youtube doesn't play. I think it's some kind of security mechanism. If you have the window open for a few minutes it won't play. If you try refreshing the person's lj page it should work.

also, youtube lets you embed things either by the code or with the auto-post thing, that the poster of the video has marked as 'not embeddable' - it still gives you the code, but it shouldn't.

It let me embed it using the auto-post thing, but if you look to the right, in small text in the grey box, it reads, 'Embedding disabled by request'.

However, instead of giving the message that it can't be given, it gives the 'no longer available' message, which is seriously misleading.

I usually end up with the wrong video - I dunno how it does that, but if I pull the person's post down in a separate tab, then it shows up right. I just can't read them on my main page.

Yeah, ditto for me on that one. Mostly I don't get errors (though sometimes) but rather I just get some other video unless I click to the post directly. I always assumed it was something with my setup (ubuntu on amd64) and it hasn't happened recently so I'm hoping it was fixed somehow. :)
