HBO's "Recount"

C and I watched HBO’s “Recount” last night. It is about the Florida recount. It tries to accurately portray (in drama form) what happened. It was painful to recall that part of American history, but the acting and writing was excellent. If you have HBO, you should see this.

If watching the 2-hour movie would be gut-wretching, read the review instead.

If you are too young to remember or just didn’t understand what happened in the the Bush v. Gore election debacle, watch the movie. It’s excellent.

The film looks really good. And it obviously has an amazing cast. (Though I read articles quoting some of the folks in Clinton's administration as saying they felt they were unfairly portrayed as too weak.) But I just can't bring myself to watch it. The last 7 years have been so depressing that I'm not sure I can handle AGAIN facing the fact that we almost didn't have to go through it. *sigh*
