Thank god. Every time that bucket of bolts goes up I fear that we’ll have another 7+ dead astronauts. We should have replaced that system years ago. Fuckin’ “no new taxes” hysteria striping us of the good programs and secretly leaving all those fucked up military programs in place. The fact that we don't have a shuttle replacement has nothing to do with "no new taxes" and everything to do with internal NASA politics combined with flip-flopping Congressional politics.

Do you have any actual evidence or are you just mouthing off? Based on what I've heard/read from people inside NASA there was cash available and what happened were turf battles over how it was spent.
