A happy new year in deed

quietchris and I went to the NYE party at auntiemisha and gmdraves’s wonderful NYE party.

It took 3 hours to get there because the trains were so full they wouldn’t let us on. Next time we’ll go to a train station further down the line so they have seats. I can’t believe the conductor was preventing people from getting on when there was still standing room. When I take the rush-hour train in the morning they are often more packed than what I saw last night.

We stopped for pizza in Penn Station before getting on the subway. They had those little single-serve wine bottles, so we got a little drunk before we even arrived. The pizza was so freakin’ good. I often forget how good NY pizza is. Considering that I work in NY, it’s funny that I don’t eat it more often.

The party was fun. I got to see a lot of peoples I haven’t seen in a while, including JI and Y, K and Q (I’m really just mentioning those people because they are, what I shall now always refer to as, “the letter people”). barking_iguana, Alexia and other LJers were there. I also met a cute bi-dyke who was young enough to be a niece, who turned out to be the daughter of someone I know from Bell Labs. (that was a little weird)

quietchris and I crashed for the night. In the morning gmdraves cooked omelets before we took the train home.

A good time was had by all. Happy New Year!

Hmm I was going to ask who Y and K were, until I verbally asked gmdraves, and then after I asked I went "Oh, duh, nevermind!" :-)

I'm glad you had fun, it was great seeing you there! I hope you can make it to Mishacon too.
