and that he ignored all the warnings...

and that it was started with a lie...

and the Republican that gets elected in 2008 is going nuts trying to resolve it... still.

I’m sure Bush will say something like, ”but I did it for my country.”

Oooooooooooooooooooh.

Too true.

It's enough to make you-- well, me-- think of St. Augustine....

If he ever does admit that, it won't be sincerely. War (any war, really), is only a failure when everyone he's surrounded with is no longer profiting from it. Frankly, until we start seeing political candidates who are taking time off from having to work for a living instead of insanely wealthy ones, I don't see much of a difference in the democrats on this unbridgeable gap in perspective.

I agree that he'll think to his dying day he was doing the right thing, and for roughly the same reasons as the other examples given. Simply put, *his* country, which isn't *our* country, is laughing all the way to the bank.

Bush won't ever admit that the war was wrong. His personal lord and savior, Jesus H. Christ, told him it was the right thing to do.

I still maintain that Bush has zero actual religion; the Religious Wrong are convenient for votes, but no more, and Bush's real interest is in business patronage. But he, like much of the rest of the Republican party, have learned how to manipulate the falsely "religious" by their hate (their real religion, having nothing to do with churches or etc.) — at least until something like the Foley scandal temporarily gets their attention, but soon enough their hate will betray them yet again and they'll be back on their leashes.
