That article seems to me like, "Look, three guys have goatees, and they work in a place with lots of fancy free food, games, big screens, you name it -- how awful!"
I grew a beard while I was in Peru over the last couple of weeks. Not a goatee, just a full-face beard. I got back to work and two people said that I looked "unshaven". Wow. I somehow even got growing a beard wrong :)
