It generates the sum of the products. That is, it multiplies the elements step-by-step and sums the results. So if you have an array A1, A2, A3, A4 and another that is B1, B2, B3 and B4, it outputs A1*B1 + A2*B2 + A3*B3 + A4*B4.

Previously I would make a hidden column just to store the intermediate values. Now I can save that step.
