I am a lot different than many of my geek friends, who are conservative about money and liberal about everything else. I am totally a socialist, but then again, bisexuals like me are often seen in the 'helping' professions (according to Cosmo), so what do you expect?
I'm so glad I met you at OSCON2004, and I wish I could have attended OSCON2005 so we could have possibly hung out more. You're posts are excellent, I especially like your anecdotes about your life. You should write them up into a book.
I'm all for Finland. However...I wonder how much flexibility people have to switch jobs under a system like that? (Not that most Americans have a ton of flexibility, either.)
