Your last post was just hysterical.

The market's getting there more surely than any government program, no matter how well-funded, would have. Hybrids and electris were a niche experiment a few years ago, and are rapibdly becoming "mainstream." [livejournal.com profile] prettypammie and I are driving an '03 Prius now, and consumer demand is keeping resale values high. Automakers listen to a product line that brings them customers willing to wait on a one-month waiting list in order to pay "full-freight" for their new hybrid.

Ethanol and natural gas-fueled utility and public transit vehicles are becoming common.

Hydrogen-fueled vehicles are "on-deck" and will take their turn at-bat, soon.

Maybe it's not fast enough--but I think your ten-year old bureacracy might still be arguing about what color scheme the fourth version of its logo should use. Some "head start" that would be. Whew. Color me impressed.
