My co-workers use the iChat status to indicate where they are (home, work, 3rd floor, etc.) and this really enhances communication.

However, MS-Windows users on AIM don’t see these status messages. It causes a lot of confusion.

Any way for Windows users to see these messages?

($5 to the first person NOT to say, “buy them all Macs!”)

I don't have an answer for you, but I had no idea Windows users didn't see those status messages!

Thanks for the info!

Perhaps switching to an alternate AIM client of some sort? I don't know if any of them handle the status messages properly, but it's presumably worth a look.

Try Trillian, which supports AIM and a bunch of other chat clients all together. I love it. I'll check tomorrow and see if it shows user status and let you know. (Beats mowing the lawn)

5 replies, none of them "Buy them all Macs." Looks like you owe [livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl $5.

Gaim shows the status messages, as [as someone else said] Trillian.

[and neither of them shove ads at you, like the standard AIM client does.]
