Friday night Kerry mentioned Christopher Reeve as an example of why embryonic stem cell research should be done.. (I missed it somehow...)

On Saturday Christopher Reeve passed away...

It's not as funny when one explains it, ya know. :>

Okay I'm going to be accused of REALLY killing a mildly funny joke... but the implication is that by mentioning Christopher Reeve, John Kerry somehow caused Reeve to die... So by telling a heckler "I'm going to mention YOU at the next debate!" he'd be telling said heckler that he was going to either have him killed OR the fanatical-anti-stem-cell-fanatics will do it for him..

This proves the point that humor, when broken down and explained, becomes less funny. Much like the Three Stooges...

My partner saw something with Christopher Reeve, and he was telling jokes that HE had heard about himself that he found amusing. One of them she remembered him relating was: "What's the difference between O.J. Simpson and Christopher Reeve? ... O.J. walked..."

And Christopher Reeve thought that was hilarious, evidently!

He truly was a Man of Steel for his struggle, and for keeping him sense of humor through it all. Sad to say but he'll be missed.

How were Christopher Reeve and Cole Porter alike...?
