Retro vs. Metro

www.metrovsretro.org took out a full page advert in the New York Times this week. It riled up a lot of conservatives because it uncovers a lot of the strategy that the Republicans have done to get people to vote against their own best interest.

http://www.retrovsmetro.org/retrovsmetro/ is the nearest I can find to the advertisement. I think it explains their point of view pretty well.

Their message is divisive, in a way that appeals to me and my new economy, north-eastern, elitist (oh yeah, and anti-racism, pro-gay, pro-environment, pro-sustainable economy) values.

Thanks for posting that, Tom. Next month, I'm doing a presentation for our polyamory group about progressive values and what it means to be progressive. Stuff like this helps a lot. Yes, I'm using some stuff from DFA but it's tricky cuz I want to do the presentation without particularly talking about one party. We have all sorts of people in our poly group and, if I start advocating one particular party, I think I'll turn them off. That's why I want to talk about values and how progressive values are important and consistent with polyamory.
